Progress to improve the Brown and Red lines continues with the next phase of Three-Track operation, which is scheduled to begin March 30, 2008. Three-Track operation will allow the CTA to increase the width of the platforms and install elevators at the Fullerton and Belmont stations. The CTA recommends Brown Line, Red Line and Purple Line Express customers allow extra travel time and leave earlier or later during peak travel times, especially during the morning rush. This brochure provides answers to frequently asked questions and provides suggestions for alternate transit options.

CTA introduces new and improved train and bus service to the West Side and near West Suburbs. Customers will benefit from more frequent service on the new Pink Line and the Forest Park Blue Line. Enhanced bus routes will also better match customers' travel needs.

CTA has a new fare structure effective January 1, 2006. Most CTA fares remain the
same. Pay CTA fares with Chicago Card, Chicago Card Plus, Transit Cards, passes or
cash. The revised structure enables the CTA to continue to provide the high level of
service it has worked hard to achieve and ensure a public transit system designed to
serve customers into the future. This brochure details the changes and describes the
available fare options.
